In November, the largest metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing event will head to McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. The FABTECH event is expected to cover more than 750,000 net square feet and is expecting more than 50,000 attendees and 1,700 exhibiting companies. It is the place to broaden perspectives, view live product demonstrations, attend expert education programs, and have access to unlimited networking opportunities.

It all began in 1981 as a regional trade show serving a few hundred attending companies. Slowly, it expanded to North America’s most authoritative event for metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing. It now includes the AWS Welding Show, the METALFORM trade show, and the Chemical Coaters Association.

FABTECH serves the smallest job shops seeking a competitive edge to high level company executives, hoping to improve businesses of all sizes. The great event will exhibit the latest technologies and innovations in equipment, products and services, and extensive industry targeted education. There are hundreds of new products introduced each year on the exposition floor, including arc welding, assembly, bending and forming, cutting, paint and powder coating, material handling, and resistance welding.

The mission of FABTECH is to bring together sellers and buyers at a venue to help facilitate business relationships, networking, educating, and the buying process. It is a trade show you don’t want to miss as the guests will be introduced to world-class suppliers, have the latest industry products and developments for viewing, and help guests discover new solutions and tools that will help increase productivity and profits.

Each year visitors can attend the cutting edge educational sessions, informative keynote speeches, and other special events. The educational sessions are two hours in length and offer practical knowledge that can immediately be used. They range from a variety of topics to include cutting, laser, finishing, forming and fabricating, management, job shop solutions, etc. are co-sponsored by the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, Int’l (FMA), SME (formerly known as Society of Manufacturing Engineers), Precision Metalforming Association (PMA), American Welding Society (AWS), and Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI). Additionally, the American Welding Society (AWS) provides a large welding educational lineup. This is led by the industry’s top professionals and focuses on best practices and new commercial developments in welding and thermal spray.
